Christmas Inspiration- handmade gifts to sew!

So right when November began I suddenly started hearing Christmas music on a few radio ads- on the FIRST of November- when did Christmas start coming so early?! I was shocked! However, when I listen to my Christmas music on my own steam, it's okay. I visited my sister in Missouri this weekend and we went to the Missouri Star Quilt Company (SO fun! post coming soon), and we sewed, sewed and sewed while busting out the Holiday tunes! It is NEVER too early to start on Handmade Christmas gifts, so below I present some handmade holiday sewing inspiration! I'd love to hear your own ideas.

  1. These are great ideas! I've made the earbud pouches (dozens of them - everybody LOVES them), pinned the Guy's Survival Kit (to make for my kids), am making fabric baskets for my nieces and sister for Christmas. I learned how to make felt finger puppets in time for Halloween, so all the kids are getting them for Christmas too (will check out Shaffer Sisters page).

The duffle coat is particularly interesting since it covers sizes 3m - 12 - great for somebody (like me) who has kids to sew for ranging from 6m - 5y :D

My favourite project, though, is the Bella Collage Quilt - I love that kind of simple but pretty design, and have downloaded the pattern to study - I can see it in girl prints, boy prints, neutral prints, theme prints - sweet!

Something else to consider for gifts is pillowcases! Suits ages 2 to 102, quick to make, only a meter of fabric each, and the fabric choices can be personalized to the recipient - it's a great gift! It can also be used as the wrapping for another gift, lol!
